The healing ministry of the Daughters of Mary, St. Joseph's Province

Our Healing Ministry Philosophy

The healing ministry of the Daughters of Mary, St. Joseph's Province, is not just a medical service but a core expression of their faith and charism.

Rooted in Christian Charity

The ministry is "rooted in the spirit of Christian charity," emphasizing compassion, inclusivity, and holistic care for all, "without discrimination based on caste, creed, or religion."

Service to the Marginalized

Strong focus on serving the "vulnerable and less fortunate," "marginalized populations," and those in "remote, densely populated areas" who have limited access to care.

Holistic Care

Committed to caring for a person's "physical, emotional, spiritual, and social well-being." This includes services like palliative care and counseling alongside medical treatment.

Compassion and Dignity

The core value of "Compassion" is defined as responding to needs "in a caring and dignified manner." Committed to serving "with mercy, love, and honor."

Stewardship

View all resources—human, material, and financial—as "gifts from God entrusted to us to fulfill our ministry," committing to their responsible management.

Justice

This value translates to "treating those we serve with dignity, equality, honesty, and fairness." Social work and healthcare as a responsibility to promote the teachings of Jesus.
